Hajir Ibraheim

Hajir graduated from medical school at University College London in 2011 and completed her junior doctor training in London. She then undertook an MRes in Clinical Research from Imperial College London, where she worked on using colonic organoids to model the effects of gut satiety hormones. She achieved a distinction and was awarded the Deans prize. She is an academic gastroenterology trainee at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital where she developed an interest in gut mucosal immunology. She is currently undertaking a PhD at Imperial College London, focussing on gauging insights into the clinical and mechanistic processes underlying the new and rapidly expanding gut mucosal toxicity strongly associated with the emerging anti-cancer drugs- immune check point inhibitors.
Research interests: IBD, immune check point induced colitis, gut microbiome.
